Arnaud Billet a obtenu son doctorat en 2010, réalisé à l’université de Poitiers portant sur des études de relation structures-fonctions et de pharmacologie du canal chlorure CFTR. Il est ensuite parti à Montréal où il a réalisé un postdoctorat de 4 ans au sein de l’université McGill. Ses travaux ont alors porté sur les interactions entre les récepteurs couplés aux protéines G (RCPG) et les conductances ioniques au sein de l’épithélium bronchique.
Il a continué par un deuxième post-doctorat à l’université de Poitiers pendant lequel il a travaillé à la mise en place de criblages pharmacologiques de canaux ioniques par la technique de patch clamp automatique. En parallèle, il a étudié les mécanismes d’action de molécules pharmacologiques ciblant les canaux ioniques et les conséquences de mutations du gène codant pour la protéine CFTR.
Il maitrise de nombreuses techniques de culture cellulaire, de biochimie, de biologie moléculaire et de physiologie cellulaire, notamment pour l’étude des canaux ioniques (électrophysiologie).
